Burgess Hill

Wates Developments was supported with a proposal for up to 1,500 homes on land to the north of Burgess Hill in West Sussex. The assistance from Motion included proposals for a new link road, a new public transport strategy and the assessment of a number of constrained junctions across the local highway network.

The project has involved close liaison with county officers and Highways England. The proposals form part of the wider ‘Northern Arc’ development for 3,500 new homes.

With guidance from Motion, Wates Developments was able to produce two alternative strategies, enabling the scheme to be brought forward in advance, or as part, of the wider ‘Northern Arc’ master plan.
