London Road, Maresfield

TPI (now part of Motion) was commissioned to produce a transport assessment which would assist the award winning Asprey Homes with the outline application for the construction of a new residential development consisting of nine dwellings on a parcel of land adjacent to London Road, near Maresfield in East Sussex. The project involved liaison with East Sussex County Council as Highway Authority to agree on the scope of work required. This involved vehicle swept path analysis to ensure the site is designed to accommodate a large refuse vehicle. A site visit was undertaken to assess the positioning of the access with particular attention to the visibility splays. An automatic traffic counter allowed for an accurate record of speeds to inform visibility splay requirements. The project was granted planning approval in August 2016.
